Benefits of Membership

All members are entitled to:

1. Free attendance at all public and private meetings sponsored by Heartland Angels, Inc. and discounted fees for any event co-sponsored by Heartland Angels and other organizations.
2. Access to opportunities that have been pre-screened by Heartland Angels, Inc.
3. Opportunity to participate in the initial screening and evaluation process of companies interested in funding. This includes to by-pass the screening committees and Present a company directly to the Investment Committee
4. Opportunity to participate in the due diligence team process reviewing companies for potential investment and in all panels and committees.
5. Access to investment opportunities that are within the Heartland Angels' profile of investments and option to have access outside the general investment profile of Heartland Angels, Inc. on a case-by-case basis. This is made possible by Heartland Angels' deal flow.
6. Anonymity: This is accomplished in several ways:
a. After the initial interview in the accredited investor certification process, investors may review on the secured Heartland Angels' website all presented companies, their executive summaries, business plans and due diligence reports. No investor need ever attend any meetings. Personal presence at the private investor only meetings is optional. Confidential materials provided by the company in the due diligence process will follow the guidelines established between the companies and the due diligence team and may require on-site examination. An electronic Bulletin Board will be available for investors to discuss any company presented.
b. If an investor personally chooses to attend meetings, no individual is identified as a member unless that member personally allows that relationship to be known.

Event attendance records are kept confidential (unless otherwise directed by the investor). This information is used by the Heartland Angels' administration only for business operational purposes.Opportunity for direct personal contact with all companies and management that submit their business plans for review.
7. Opportunity to bring up to two guests (space permitting) to all meetings.
8. Opportunity to register as a Consultant, Advisor and/or Mentor.
9. Eligible to be an observer or a manager on a portfolio company.
10. Invest in any company that Heartland Angels as a group identifies as an investment opportunity.  Opportunity to meet other investors that are interested in networking.
11. Introductions to the Network Consultants, to Heartland’s various review panel members, and to Heartland Sponsors. "Turn-key" program to negotiate, structure and finalize the terms, valuation and equity issues involved in investments.
12.

Reduction in annual fees if recruit new members to Heartland Angels.

Membership is for one calendar year starting on January first.  Individuals joining after June 30th will have their membership prorated at 50% of the standard membership fee. Membership fees are due the first week of January.

Members can participate in all the Committees in Heartland.

There are monthly meetings during which potential investment opportunities are presented to the Member investors and guests. Heartland Angels, as an organization, does not take a position on the merits of the companies it presents to its members. The decision to invest (or not invest) rests entirely upon the individual members.
