Interns

Heartland Angels invites the voluntary participation of part-time and full-time interns in the activities of our network. While most interns are in undergraduate or graduate programs, we do work with recent graduates and individuals who are in-transition. Internships and other special programs may be available to students attending certain academic institutions by which they can participate in some of the operational activities of Heartland Angels. Interested students must obtain approval from both their academic institutions and from Heartland Angels to participate in these voluntary un-paid programs.

Intern Activities

1. Attend Events
2. Participate in Committee Activities
3. Assist Portfolio Companies
4. Assist with Heartland Angels Fund Development
5. Evaluate Companies for Presentation
6. Assist in Program Operations

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or Graduate training in communications, finance, business administration, entrepreneurship, and/or marketing with an understanding of technology, engineering or science
• Knowledge of trends in online web services and social media
• Experience with website content management
• Excellent writing and listening skills
• Ability to learn new software and systems quickly
• Attention to detail and high level of organization
• Interest in and knowledge of business capital and markets
• Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Ability to self-motivate, stay organized, and work both independently and as part of a team on a deadline

Participation will improve the ability of the intern to:

1. Track, gather and create content to inform decisions and strategies for technology companies and Heartland Angels;
2. Research and understand emerging technology sectors.
